Downie 4.12.8 for Mac

Downie is a native Mac app that saves videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and more than 1,000 other sites by parsing streams directly instead of relying on screen recording.

Paste a URL, use the Safari, Chrome, or Firefox extension, or drag a link into Downie to start a download. Pick quality up to 4K where the source allows, grab subtitles when available, and let postprocessing convert files to MP4 for iPhone or extract audio only for podcasts and music.

Downie includes a built-in browser for User-Guided Extraction when a site is not on the supported list, iCloud history sync to avoid duplicate downloads across Macs, and frequent updates that adjust extractors as sites change. Integration with Permute lets you send finished files straight into a conversion workflow.

Version 4.12.8 requires macOS 11 or later (macOS 13+ is strongly recommended) on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. This maintenance release improves several major sites and fixes a SABR live-stream issue documented in the official release notes. Downie sells as a one-time license with a free trial and is not available on the Mac App Store.
